I have enjoyed the RV travel season so far. We traveled to the mountains in Colorado and had a great time!
I wanted to pass on an article that I read on the Associated Press website. When I provide a presentation to RVers and the public about cyber security, I get a lot of questions about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and use by scammers. The Associated Press and Frontline partnered on a great article (and documentary) about the use of AI to “almost” automate the scams that they use to separate you from your money/savings. The scammers can just “cut and paste” a few things into software to initiate a scam. The article goes into detail about how sophisticated scammers overseas recruit and force people to conduct online scams. In the article it mentions how “The use of AI in scams is exploding so fast that many in the cybersecurity community fear fully-automated scams run by AI agents will soon become commonplace.” The Link to the article – AI and other American technologies fuel the scam industry | AP News
The article is very in-depth with pictures and research. I hope this explains to you how the increased use of AI by nefarious actors for profit is proliferating worldwide.
