Happy Spring! I wanted to make you aware of this article on KrebsonSecurity.com. Many RVer’s frequent shopping centers and or airports in their travels and this report makes you aware of how malicious actors could obtain your information.
The article – Why is ‘Juice Jacking” Suddenly Back in the News?, talks about the safety of using free charging stations while travelling. Krebs on Security coined the phrase in 2011 and in April of this year the FBI and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) put out alerts pertaining to this criminal activity.
The FBI’s Denver office tweeted “avoid using free charging stations in airports, hotels or shopping centers.” Five days later, the FCC distributed a similar message.
One recommendation is to use your own personal plugin adapter and plug into an electrical outlet.
I hope you are having a great Spring and Safe Travels!
Thanks,
Robert
